Neeta Pardanani ConnallyDirector, CSU Professor, Biology
My research interests lie at the intersection of tick ecology and human behavior. I collected my first tick in 1998 and was immediately hooked. My work since that time has been focused upon understanding risk for tickborne illnesses like Lyme disease and preventing humans from encountering ticks in the peridomestic (backyard) landscape. You can learn more about my recent projects here.
I earned a MSPH from Tulane School of Public Health and a PhD in entomology the University of Rhode Island. Prior to joining the WCSU faculty, I was an associate research scientist at the CT Emerging Infections Program at Yale School of Public Health. At WCSU, I teach a variety of courses including intro biology for non-majors, modes of science communication, GIS, and senior research. Providing hands-on learning opportunities for my students is among one of my primary goals as a WCSU professor. |
